Alumni Spotlight: Tirumular (Drew) Narayanan Publishes Article in “Current Affairs”

Ph.D. Student Tirumular (Drew) Narayanan has published the article “Medieval Dreams and Far-Right Nightmares,” with Benjamin Bertrand, in Issue 32 of Current Affairs. Their article discusses the Far-Right’s appropriation of medieval symbols and the Death Dealer statute at the United State military base of Fort Hood in Central Texas.

Alumni Spotlight: Bevin Butler, Vagantes Board member 2012–14, Indiana University (2012), UW–Madison (2013), UT-Austin (2014), University of Florida (2015)

Bevin Butler recently completed her doctoral dissertation at Arizona State University and is now the Assistant Professor of Art History at Tennessee Tech University. Her dissertation, “Crafting Agency in Needle and Thread: “Nuns’ Work” and Textile Production in Late Medieval Monasteries,” critically interrogates the historic associations of textiles with femininity, the historiography regarding nuns’ contributions
