Please find attached a Call for Papers for the 21st Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies. The conference will take place at the Cleveland Museum of Art and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio from March 24th–26th, 2022.   Vagantes is an interdisciplinary community of junior scholars that offers an excellent opportunity for sharing new research.  

The Vagantes Board of Directors is excited to announce that 22nd Annual Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies will be returning to Harvard University! We can’t wait to see you in Cambridge in 2023!  

The 21st Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies will take place at the Cleveland Museum of Art and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio from March 24th–26th, 2022. Vagantes is an interdisciplinary community of junior scholars that offers an excellent opportunity for sharing new research. Submissions on non-Eurocentric topics or medievalism are also encouraged! Ph.D. Student Tirumular (Drew) Narayanan has published the article “Medieval Dreams and Far-Right Nightmares,” with Benjamin Bertrand, in Issue 32 of Current Affairs. Their article discusses the Far-Right’s appropriation of medieval symbols and the Death Dealer statute at the United State military base of Fort Hood in Central Texas.
