Vagantes 2025: Day One Highlights

Day one of Vagantes 2025 was full of highlights:

-Speakers asked us to reflect on knowledge sharing between religious women, the ecocritical implications of both historical and fictive writing, and the physical remnants of marginalized sacred practice;

-Peer mentors swapped advice and insight over lunch;

-Editors Michael Cornett (Duke, Journal of Medieval and Early Modern Studies), Erik Maloney (UNC, Studies in Philology), and Taylor McCall (MAA, Speculum) offered us a glimpse into the world of academic publishing;

-Keynote speaker Dr. Martin Eisner led us in a lament of modern misreadings of Dante’s Paradiso.

Reflect on this and more through a few photos below. If you have photos of your own to share, please send them to vagantesboard@gmail.com!
