Mentorship and Professionalization Event | Publishing Articles as a Graduate Student

Please join the Vagantes board for our first Mentorship & Professionalization event!

Have you ever wondered about how to publish your work as a graduate student? Or what it means to invest in professional development? Join the Vagantes Mentorship & Professionalization representative, Kris Racaniello, to discuss navigating journal applications, unconventional publishing, and what a “professional” medievalist could look like in the future. Kris will share some tips from their personal experience applying to and editing journals, as well as publishing in edited volumes during their PhD program. Advice and resources on publishing will be shared, along with details for a future workshop on the “Dissertation to Book” publishing pipeline.

This is the first Mentorship & Professionalization meeting outside of the Vagantes conference. Our goal is to build solidarity and real, horizontal working relationships beyond our yearly conference through this working platform. We encourage your participation, and are especially excited to answer questions you might have about the publishing process.

*Links to further resources will be shared at the end of the meeting.
