Program
Conference Information
Registration
– Registration and check-in are from 8:00am-10:00am on Thursday, April 9th and Friday, April 10th in the Rossell Hope Robbins Library (located on the fourth floor of the Rush Rhees Library). If you are arriving after check-in or on a different day, your materials will still be available to you in the Robbins.
– We plan to have guides at each entrance to help you find registration, but in case you need help finding the Robbins Library, we provide here some directions. To get to registration from the entrance on Library Road: Take the elevator or the stairs to the first floor; then follow signage to a second elevator which will take you to the fourth floor. There, you’ll find the Robbins Library. To get to registration from the entrance on the quad side: Follow signage to the elevator that will take you to the fourth floor, where you’ll find the Robbins Library.
Food
– Each day of the conference, we will provide breakfast for all attendees that will be available in the Robbins Library. We will also provide fresh coffee and tea from Kopani Coffee each morning.
– On Thursday, we will provide lunch from Thali of India. There will be vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Friday will be an open lunch day. There will be vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.
– For dinner recommendations for Thursday and Friday, please refer to the list of recommended dining options in the program. On Saturday, we invite all attendees to join us for the closing banquet at La Luna.
Medieval Manuscript Session & Mingle with Medievalists
– All are invited to attend the Medieval Manuscript Session and “Mingle with Medievalists,” which will run concurrently on Thursday, April 9th from 1:45pm-3:00pm. We ask that everyone meets in the Robbins Library at 1:45pm.
– Since the Rare Books Library has a small capacity, some will attend the Medieval Manuscript Session from 1:45-2:15pm and others will attend from 2:20pm-3:00pm. We will provide a list of the attendees who are scheduled for each time slot.
– When you are not at the Medieval Manuscript Session, you may enjoy light drinks, charcuterie, and conversation with medieval scholars from across the region in the Robbins Library at the “Mingle with Medievalists” event.
Opening Keynote & “O virga ac diadema: Hildegard and the Living Light” Concert
– The opening keynote and concert will take place at Christ Church Rochester on Thursday, April 9 at 5pm.
