Vagantes Award(s) for Best Graduate Paper
The Board of Directors of the Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies is proud to announce the third Vagantes Award(s) for Best Graduate Paper. As a graduate organization, we are pleased to offer this additional avenue for professional development for those presenting at the conference. The Vagantes Paper Prize is awarded to graduate students based both on their presentation at the Vagantes Conference and a written version of their draft. Paper prizes are judged by members of the Vagantes Board of Directors, and the finalists for the award(s) will be voted on by the Board of Directors in a blind evaluation after Vagantes. The recipient(s) will be announced after the conference has concluded.
Submissions are open to any attendee of Vagantes who is presenting a paper. Entries should be submitted to vagantesboard@gmail.com. Date TBD.
Submitted papers should:
- be conference paper length, with endnotes/footnotes and a bibliography (no more than 10 pages, not including sources)
- be well-written
- represent an innovative approach to a Medieval topic
- clearly demonstrate how the content of the paper adds to our understanding of the Middle Ages
- be presented in-person at the Vagantes Conference on Medieval Studies, March 24–26, 2022
